Greetings from West Point Grey Faith Community!
The year I arrived at our faith community in 2018, we had two Christmas trees, one inside and one outside the church during the Advent and Christmas seasons. We kept the trees over the wintertime and then, in late Lent, made a rugged cross out of them which we used during the Good Friday service and then for Easter Sunday when it was decorated with flowers and moved to the front of the church to tell the good news to all who pass by. Many of you decorated the cross with flowers of hope and joy.
It is our prayer that the pandemic ends with an endemic and the war ends with peace, that we are able to take loving action for reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and that our efforts to limit global warming are successful. We pray that each of us and our families are filled with hope and joy this Eastertide and beyond.
