Worship

Our regular Sunday morning worship service takes place each week at 10:30 am.  The style is a blend of the traditional and contemporary.   We are a church with a progressive, liberal theology.  We are committed to an ongoing, life-long exploration of the Christian story within the context of the world in which we live - where questions and dialogue on faith and life are encouraged.

Music is an important part of our worship. We use two hymns books:  'Voices United' (newer and older music) and 'More Voices' (new and world music).  We are fortunate to have a lovely casavant 'theatre style' pipe organ and a Grotian grand piano. Other instruments are also used on a frequent basis include flute, cello and clarinet.  Eileen Padgett is our Director of Music, and is very welcoming of the musical talent of all ages - whether you would like to sing in the choir, or play an instrument.

The worship liturgy or service is projected on a large screen at the front of the church, and allows for visuals and videos that complement and deepen the worship experience.  Large print worship services and hymns are available, and we print the focus scriptures in Chinese and Korean.  The sermon for the day is available on this website, as is a translation of the sermon into Chinese (see Sermon Page). Children are welcome and an area at the front with activity tables has been set aside for their use.
