Activities Schedule

Schedule of Events for January 11 - 18 will appear shortly.

Prayer Circle:
the Pastoral Care Committee plans to form an intentional prayer circle. This would include people who have or who would like to develop, an individual daily prayer practise. Its purpose would be to respond to particular prayer requests over a period of time so that people in need might have the comfort of knowing that others were prayerfully walking with them during a stressful time. If you would be interested in learning more about this group, please contact Jan Tennant at coffee time, or please call the office. There will be an informal gathering to plan and discuss this very important new ministry. In the meantime, if you have prayer requests, forms may be found on the table at the entrance to the church and in the pews. Once filled out, they may be deposited in the specially marked boxes at the church entrance, or in the gym during coffee time.

URGENT APPEAL - 1st United Church is working with the City of Vancouver to provide housing for 1,000 homeless sleeping on the streets. 150 people will be accommodated at 1st Church Mission each evening. You can help by bringing blankets and coffee to WPGUC to be delivered to 1st Church. To keep the doors open, they need people who can spend a portion of a night to act as hosts. If you can help by being a volunteer, please contact 1st Church at 604-681-8365.

Healing Touch is an energy-based approach to healing. It is non-invasive, economical, effective, and helps to promote relaxation, reduce pain, manage stress, speed healing, and increase a sense of well-being. You are welcome to join us to learn and practice healing touch skills or to receive healing (at the church or in your home). The practice group meets every second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the church. On the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7pm, members of this group offer healing touch to whomever would like to experience it whether from the congregation or the community. For more information, please call Phyllis Bernez at 604-263-3705. For times, see schedule above.
